Having a bridge normally takes two or more appointments. The two anchoring teeth are prepped by having some enamel removed while the teeth are numbed in order to make room for a crown. After that, a precise impression (mold) is created and transported to a dental lab where the bridge will be created. A temporary bridge will also be created and worn for a few weeks until your subsequent visit.

Your permanent dental bridges will be meticulously examined, modified, and cemented to get the ideal fit during the second appointment. On rare occasions, your dentist may temporarily set the bridge in place to give your teeth and surrounding tissue some time to adjust. At a later date, the new bridge will be securely attached.

At the end of your treatment, you’ll get care instructions. Your new permanent bridge will last longer if you brush, floss, and get regular dental checkups.
